NTSB Recovers Door Plug from Alaska Airlines Boeing 737-9 MAX
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) announced on Monday, January 8, 2024, that they had recovered the door plug from Alaska Airlines Flight 1282 Boeing 737-9 MAX, in Cedar Hills, Oregon. NTSB investigators are sending the door plug to the NTSB Materials Laboratory in Washington, DC, for further examination. Shortly after takeoff on January 5, the panel installed to replace an optional emergency exit door, also known as a door plug, blew out, causing an uncontrolled aircraft decompression.
